New Troop Meeting Format
With all the new and improved changes at Troop 484 we will be introducing a new Meeting format starting in December. It will be as follows.
1st Monday of the month we will work on scout skills (first aid, fire building, knot tying etc.)
2nd Monday of the month we will have various Merit Badge counselors come and give workshops. This meeting will also be used for planning.
3rd Monday of the month there will be no scout meeting. (we can not use the hall on this night) There will be a leaders meeting on this night.
4th Monday of the month will be some type of outing or field trip as planned by the boys.
Also we will be starting to have the Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) Meetings at 8pm on regular meeting nights. These meetings should last no longer than 15 or 20 minutes most of the time. This is when the Youth Leadership will plan out their upcoming activities and meetings.
We feel this new format will help the boys plan ahead more and work toward thier advancements in a more organized and effective manner. Anyone who would like to help teach a skill or merit badge is more than welcome to. You do not have to be a registered leader to pitch in and help. Our troop can only be as strong as the support we get from all the parents involvement.
